Syd Harris is a San Diego-based artist specializing in sculptures of alabaster, marble, limestone, stainless steel, mild steel and copper.
All of the metal pieces are designed for outdoors installations but work equally well indoors. The alabaster pieces are created in a wide color range from green, reds, rusts, browns, pinks and many other beautiful colors. He has also done a number of images in Carrera and Colorado Marble. The Carrera marble is from the same quarry in Italy that Michelangelo obtained the marble that he used in carving “DAVID”. The richness and beauty of the stone is truly beautiful.
Syd’s experience and technical training as an engineer can be seen in the precise and interwoven movement that is demonstrated in a number of the pieces.
Syd Harris is a long time resident of San Diego county and currently resides in North County.
